The EcoFoG joint research unit comprises several laboratories working on tropical ecosystems, integrating different approaches. Read the latest news.

The joint research unit in a few words

Ideally located in French Guiana, the unit was set up in 2002 and conducts research on tropical ecosystems, integrating different approaches in ecology and materials science to :

  • understand the relationships between biodiversity and the functioning of tropical forest ecosystems, whether exploited or not, as they evolve under climatic and anthropic pressures,
  • encourage innovation in the use of forest resources in the context of this high biodiversity, taking into account the constraints of use linked to the humid tropical environment.
