Thematic research areas
Community patterns and assemblages
Objectives
This axis aims to significantly improve our understanding of the factors influencing species turnover in tropical rainforests. This is studied in particular through the coordination of community assemblages between groups of species across broad geographical and environmental gradients.
The sampling protocols that are being developed, as well as the general databases, are therefore essential for :
- Estimate regional biodiversity
- Improve models of biodiversity dynamics in response to land use and climate change scenarios.
