Thematic research areas

Research is organized into five main areas.

Ecosystem processes and services

Objectives

The aim of this axis is to quantify the consequences of global change on :

  • Ecosystem processes such as trophic flows, dynamics and networks
  • Ecosystem services provided by tropical forests and ecosystems resulting from changes in forest land use (plantations, agro-forests and agro-socio-ecosystems).

The modeling approach is central to the axis, and some of the models developed can be used to test the effects of different scenarios (climate, land use, etc.) on processes and services.

This makes it possible to propose operational decision-making tools and thus contributes to the axis' strong application vocation, in partnership with those involved in the management of the ecosystems studied (OFB, ONF...).
